I obviously love this back and forth. At the same time, I'm not surprised you can't work out the math on the house. Finance isn't your strong suit. If you bought in 2007 before the market crashed, you had to wait 10 years to have enough equity before you could refinance. It's pretty simple. A prolonged recession kept housing prices down for 10 years. I can see you googling on housing prices in 2007 right now. Poor thing. I consider it quite an accomplishment to own your own home right out of college, though it was very difficult to go through it when you are just starting a career and family. Most of us have to work for that kindof thing. I'm not surprised that someone who's lead their companies through bankruptcy wouldn't understand what the lower and middle classes have to go through.
